Have you ever tried to write out a story for an Anime or Manga, then realize that it absolutely sucks?

I know, I don't have a snowball's chance in a Louisiana summer of getting noticed by anyone of relevance, but I like to try to dabble and write out a script for an anime or cartoon.

I try to write something, it turns out sounding cliched or just not fitting right with me.

Have any of you ever had a similar experience?

I do too.

I once had this anime / manga idea which is still on hiatus. I wanted to show something new, but in the end I found it not fitting at all. I realized that even though I have the basic concept and character designs, the main flow doesn't seem to work. Then I stopped writing for a while, as I'm trying to gather more informations (and add more imagery stuffs) - but when I wrote again, it turned out bad, or didn't suit my style.

I'm not a professional manga writer/artist(I'm in the Anime Club after school), but yes I have. I tried writing several kinds of stories, but they all turned out sh*tty. When I tried brainstorming, I got all these crazy ideas, wrote them down, and tried to somehow put them into the story. It didn't work. It's probably because fighting manga has been done before, girl power manga has been done before, high school manga has been done before,(everything has been done before) etc. It's hard to come up with something that stands out so it's hard to find something that I'm comfortable with.
