If I were a GM I would not pursue Schilling at all.

I would say that he goes to Tampa for around 10 million to mentor the young pitchers. He may get 9 mill offers from other teams to be their #3 or 4.

He wants a 1 year contract and starting pitching free agents are down this year, like every year. He will go to the Cards for $12mil. he definitely doesnt deserve that, but they need pitching and their new GM will be throwin some cash around.

He's not even an ace pitcher, he's a 3rd at best. I can't imagine the Sox resigning him. I really hope they don't. I've heard he's heading down to Tampa Bay to be with the rest of the old people in Florida.

Age and injuries are adding up on him. But if you need a quality starter 13 mil. is the going rate. I'd do it.

he could stay with Boston but if they still want him, he would have to take a huge pay cut... more like no more than 5 mill... but that is for any team he goes to(they would be stupid to pay more than that)... but he has already pretty much stated that he has pitched his last game for them...
