If New England goes 19-0, im glad that their perfect season will be tarnished by a cheating scandal. When people are reviewing the history of football 100 years from now, people will discredit what they have done and consider the 72 Dolphins the best team ever. |

To answer your point, steroids could be a factor but we don't know for sure. I think Harrison is the only one who was suspended for steroid use.
The Patriots do play in a weak division, but I think their winning has more to do with Spygate than steroids. |

Only one player has been suspected of receiving any illegal performance enhancing drugs for the Patriots and it was HGH. No one has tested positive for steroids. They are a very talented team. To this point, the most talented team. If they win Sunday, they will be the most talented team ever in the NFL. You can't put football in the same category as baseball because football has always had testing for illegal performance enhancing drugs. |

Kidding. If these athletes want to blow up the sports they play in, there's nothing we can do to stop them.
Barry Bonds ruined baseball's all-time home run record, and the fans are disgusted and jaded. Baseball will never be revered the way it was before.
In the Pat's case, if roids are part of the equation, then what happened is that the most naturally talented group of players stoked up, so it's pretty much even along those lines.
But gimme some brewskis and some shooters on game day, and who the heck cares?! |

Drugs in football goes back to the early 70's when players were getting shot up with pain killers just to get on the field. If steroids were or are prevalent, then it is an even playing field and most are or were probably taking, unlike cycling or baseball where there were a few gaining a competitive advantage. |

As far as playing untalented teams, the Pats beat the Cowboys on the road (best record in the NFC), the Giants (NFC Champions) on the road, the Colts (2nd best team in the AFC) on the road, blew out the Chargers (AFC Conference finalist) at home before beating them again in the playoffs, destroyed Pittsburgh (AFC North Champs), beat an 11-win Jacksonville team in the playoffs as well. They also beat the Redskins, another NFC playoff team.
The only untalented team they didn't play was Green Bay (lucky break for Favre).
As far as steroids, all we have to go by is "Who's failed a drug test?"... it would be hard to beleive that offensive AND defensive linemen wouldn't be doing that stuff if they thought they could get away with it, but if no one's has tested positive for steroids, that's all anyone can go by.
The Patriots are an EXTREMELY talented team, led by a guy who is BY FAR the best coach in the NFL. |
