Can I use air gun legally to shoot squirrels in my yard? I don't eat them, but they kill all my flowers and make my garden mess. I am living in Louisiana.

Instead of killing them with an air-rifle, scare them off with a paintball gun. Loud noise, stings them a little, and they will run as far as they can. Plus it's legal all year round.

P.S.- Also works great for deer.

Wow ! Thats so mean, why not trap them and move them to another area or find out what they are scared of and try to scare them off. They are so beautiful why do people want to hurt Gods creatures. Have you ever sat and watched how they move and act they are so cute. Maybe you can get electric fence or something and try to keep them out.

nope you cant shoot them sorry but what you can do is call pest control or fit an ultra sonic device on the outside of your home that scares them

Fox urine works really well to keep them away. It can be purchased at many garden stores.
Call a local exterminator to see if it's legal to shoot them.
I have had to shoot some myself.

I'm an avid Hunter but around my home I am literally in Squirrel Central and it got to the point I had to do something. I went out and invested in 2 Havahart Squirrel cage traps, rigged them with some peanut butter and peanuts in the shell, and started to catch them "live"..I simply loaded them into my SUV and drove them about 3 miles from my home and "relocated" them.....The traps work great. I've already moved about 22 Squirrels to date, and my bird feeders and flower bulbs are once again safe.....I think if you try shooting them, you'll really pi** off your neighbors, and this way you get it done without being a bad guy...I had a few that were a real "Challenge" to catch and that made it even more interesting. Besides if you were to shoot 1 then there will be 2 more to take it's place soon thereafter..Worked for me!

I've NEVER seen squirrels kill flowers.
Unless you live way out in the sticks, it is illegal to discharge a firearm.

Someone suggest paint ball. I'd rather have squirrels than paint splats all over.

Maybe airsoft? Non-lethal and you can get your jollies shooting defenseless animals that have done NOTHING to you without killing them.
