Yahoo and Microsoft alliance

There seems to be an apparent partnership between Microsoft and Yahoo. I came across the latter promoting IE 7 on its main page. Besides, we now have the inter conncetion of Yahoo's YM and MsN's IM.

I'd believe it.

They need to catch AOL in instant messaging, though I don't think they ever will. Most people use AIM over MSN/YIM.

Definitely right about that one.

I think they should just combine everything. (search engine, instant messaging, e-mail, etc.) Microsoft and Yahoo e-mail are both already very large, though the search engines struggle against Google. It could help them quite a bit and maybe pull ahead of Google.

I think its a good marketing strategy for both of them, with Google getting into the software market. There has been mud slinging from both sides against each other.
