Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time.?

I'm making my Princess Zelda costume, (The Ocarina of time version) and I'm making everything from scratch except the wig and the gloves. Well, I need to make the head piece, and I am out of ideas on what to use for it. Anybody have any ideas? All ideas welcome.

Doesn't sound like it comes in gold, so you could use a paint or spray paint, and use a plastic gem for the other part.
