Wired or Wireless?

For your home networking, which do you prefer wired or wireless networking? In my case it can be a combination of both if physical barrier is not a problem.

You will have a much better connection if your home network is wired. It is even more secured. A combination of wired and wireless is not a bad idea.

I've just upgraded my Wireless-G network to gigabit Wireless-N. Wireless-N isn't 100% ratified yet, but is firmware upgradable when it is ratified. I bought the Linksys WRT-350N wireless router. I bought this one because not only did it support Wireless-N, but the 4 wired ports support 10/100/1000 mbps and also has a USB port for a USB drive. The drive can be used as a windows share, an ftp location or can stream uPnP as a media server. Very nice.

I upgraded some of my wired machines to 1000mbps pci cards (linksys) and my laptop to a belkin wireless N express card. network file transfers and remote console's are so much faster!

I have a mixed network as well. I find I get better connection to gaming servers on the hard wired connection than I do from the wireless.

We run a wired and wireless network in my home. We have two computers on wire while the other two are wireless. My computer is one of the ones on the wire and I'd say it runs a lot faster than one of the one's that are wireless. I'll stick to wire.

I've got all my computers in my house wired and my laptops use the wirless. Makes sense as the computers run much faster with the wires.

Wireless is such a pain. We're trying to set up a new router at my home (new one is wireless AND wired) -- and it's just a huge pain in the neck.

I can't even get it to work right so we're just using the old one for now.

I only have two computers and they're both on a wire. I wouldn't waste the money to go wireless, what's the point?

I was with a friend who needed his network set up for him and he's trying to connect his PC wireless. Its a nightmare getting the reception, so i've made him order a wire for it.
