Do i need a wifi card for Compaq presario SR1620IL bought in dec '05??

i am not able to configure it in my system, i do have network adapter card and an inbuilt modem from agere but, no idea about wifi card. and, if i need to buy then which one would be the best & what would be the price???

Open Start/Control Panel/System. Now click on device manager. Go down and click on the network devices. It should list what is installed. If there is not a device listed as wireless, or there is only one item, then you need an external. I like the wireless/usb devices. They are fairly easy to install and work well. Small and comes with a cable if you need to move antenna around for better signal. Cost is $29-45 depending on what is on sale and what brand. Have had good results with all major makers. Like the Belkin and Linksys best.
