Improving wifi signal?

Hi,

My signal for wifi on my computer to my router is terrible. It goes super slow and always looses connection. I am using a belkin wirless g usb network adapter.

However on my laptop which I have tried in the same place has perfect signal and never looses it. So I am assuming it must be the adapter on my computer. Does anyone know of something better? I know my laptop has an in built wifi card, do these work better?

Matt.

USB adapters have a horrible antenna. I would suggest getting a pci card for your desktop that has an antenna sticking out of it (any major brand is fine).

Improving wifi signal?

I also have a belkin router + wirless card (for laptop) + pc card (for destop pc).

Whyen i bought mine, i had terrible reception problems, it kept cutting out when i went upstairs. When my friend came round and brought his laptop with wifi built in it worked perfectly.

The problem was down to the drivers of the laptop wireless card - down load the latest driver form the belkin web site. It took a while for belkin to resolve this problem.
