Windows XP SP3 Messed Up My PC Help!?

Ok, so I have a Compaq Presario SR5023WM that originally came with Windows Vista, but I installed XP Professional SP2. Now, today I went to update it to SP3, so I downloaded it and installed it. It told me I had to reboot, so I did so. But now when I go to start the computer back up. It makes it to the screen with the XP logo and blue loading bar, and right after that, it shows a blue screen of death saying."STOP:c0000139 {Entry Point Not Found}
The procedure entry point GdiGetBitmapBitsSize could not be locared in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll."

Now, I have no clue at all as to what this means. I've tried booting it in safe-mode, no luck, same error pops up.So somebody please assist me with this.

How did you install XP? Did you format the disc or just installed XP over vista? Try fixing windows with your XP installation disc. Boot using the CD and go to repair windows. If this doesn't work, you have to do a clean install.

Not sure where you downloaded this SP3, but it hasnt officially been released from Microsoft. You always take a risk of messing your computer by installing unauthorized software on it. Try the following:

when your computer is booting up, hold down the F8 key...when windows tries to start, you will get a screen that now shows..

start windows in safe mode,
start windows in last known good configuration,
start windows normally
and a few other options


Try the one where is says start windows with last known good configuration. NOW, windows SHOULD start properly.
When you close windows after that, and try to restart it, it should be fine. However, if not, you at least should be able to pick SOME option on the F8 screen to at least get into your system, do a backup of important information , and then after doing that, try to reload windows again. When trying to reinstall windows, try the repair option first.

the problem is with and old file that is not aloowing itself to be replaced by the SP3. This will fix it.
