will game stop hold a requested game for you? - u-Assist Forums

I want to know if game stop will hold a game if i ask them to.

do i have to pay for the game for them to hold it when they get it ?

I want them to hold a game called coded arms contagious for the psp. because i can't find it in any store yet. it has came out in setember 18th 2007

will walmart also hold a game if i ask them to???

Of course they'll 'reserve' the game for you, but there is usually a $5 fee, which may be a lot depending on the value of the game.

Well it's Oct 3rd 2007 so the game is already out so you can't preorder it. You can call and ask if they will hold it til you get to the store to pay for it.

But since it's out you should just be able to walk into a store and buy it.

Why ask us? Ask game stop and/or Walmart.

Most walmarts no longer do layaway (holding) but if they do do it for you, you will have to pay a percentage of the game now, usually like 10 or 15 % and then the rest later.

As far as gamestop, if you call them and tell them you are looking for that game they will hold it for you but only for that working day, and im not 100% that they wont sell it to someone else but they will remove it from their shelves and put it behind the counter.

My experience and from others I've talked to:

Game stores will say they will hold it, they will even take your money, then they will sell your game anyway.

Happened to me with Best Buy. They so kindly offered to give me my down payment back and I have boycotted them since.

Happened to a couple of friends with Gamestop.
