Why are Clinton and Obama spliting up the democratic votes so that a Republican can win again?

Why doesn't one of them drop out? They are just dooming us to fail like the last election where Gore /Kerry Split the democratic vote and by a measly amount of votes Bush won.
I wish that one of them would see the light and stop this downward spiral.Yes I am a democrat

No. Once the nomination is decided in each party, the Democrats and Republicans will each close ranks and work together to defeat the other side.

what the hell are you talking about? There can be only one nominee - so you can't split the votes that way. A third party can split the vote.

Its called a primary. They are not splitting votes. Once one is nominated, the other wont be running.

After the primaries one of them will drop out. That's the way it always works. Unless one of them comes out as an independent.
