Why is the election talking about racism and not issues instead? Who is responsible for raising this issue?

Who played the race card first? Obama according to philly.com article by Sean Wilentz (Sidney and Ruth Lapidus of History at Princeton University. "Obama was the first to play the race card."

As an african Obama lived in three worlds, the (International Hertitage) (White decedents) and Black World. Less as a black until he found himself not accepted by anyone in the prcedent groups.
Correctly - the Rev Wright story blew away the insidious myth that Bill deliberately played the race card to label Obama as a Black Candidate.

Now Obama has found a platform to do racial posturing and talk about race and sensational charges of white racism. In effect he is really dividing not uniting this nation.

If Hillarry was conspiring to inflame the election, she could have brought up Rev Wright long before Fox News released those tapes, because when they had the Peace Breakfast Rev Wright was a representative from Chicago. His sermons and reputation had already preceeded him as a powerful minister.

The media has been playing the race card and the gender card from the very beginning (remember all those questions about whether it was harder to win as a woman or an African American, whether gender or race affects voting more...).

What is really sad is that so many people get caught up in that and ignore the REAL issues facing America.

Sike Bill played the race card first when he said Obama only won SC bc he is black.
Hillary continued the race card during the debates
Geraldine Ferrarro also took a shot and said that Obama is in this position only bc he is black, she called him lucky to be exact. So that card is clearly being dealt by Clinton camp!

I think it is more what the candidates say and do that determines the issues in the election....Obama is the most responsible...

Obama is responsible for raising the issue and his supporters keep it alive.
