Buy a Mac?

I'm looking to buy a Mac and just hoping to get another opinion with this post.

I'm currently using a six year old PC: 1.15ghz, 256 MB DDR RAM and a Nvidia Geforce2 MX 200 32MB. It runs okay, but I want better. It's to the point where I can't watch many of today's movies/videos on it, they just end up skipping. I can't play games that well either, but that's not that big of a deal.

I generally just use my computer for writing, working on my own websites, talking to friends and basically just surfing the web.

I'm looking to buy a Mac because I heard they are very stable, a lot more secure and honestly, Apple design is just beautiful. It's plain, but attractive.

Anyone own a Mac? Do you like it and would you recommend purchasing one?

I don't own a Mac, but i've used one quite a bit. If you're looking for something for a bit of fun, i think a mac would suit you, its just not as compatible as the PC though i've found.

I'd go ahead and buy one, though they are a lot more expensive than PC's. I hear they are worth the extra money though.

I agree, go ahead and buy one. I've used Macs in the past and their far better than PC's!

Where have you travelled?

I tried using a Mac once, and it was absolutely terrible to use. It just didn't make any sense to me. Maybe when I get some time at Uni, I can sit down in front of one and try to learn it properly.

I have been using the PC for so long I don't think I could ever go to a Mac.
